To enable access to web services offered on academic networks worldwide via the SSO (Single Sign-On) method, an infrastructure called eduGAIN has been developed and has been operating as a service since 2011. eduGAIN is a federation established and operated by GÉANT, the European academic network, which connects identity federations of educational and research institutions globally. eduGAIN currently has about 80 members worldwide and connects more than 9,000 identity and service providers.
As a member of eduGAIN, YETKİM is an Identity Federation that serves only higher education and research institutions in Turkey. The operation of the federation is managed by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. YETKİM provides an identity authentication and authorization infrastructure via SSO for web-accessed resources. Through YETKİM, you can access web resources using your university digital identity.
By using your digital identity, you can access numerous databases such as IEEE Xplore, ProQuest, Springer, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, Taylor & Francis, Wiley Online Library, Emerald Insight, EBSCOhost, Oxford Journals, JSTOR, and others.
For databases included in YETKİM, although procedures may vary by database, you can select "Create Account with Your Institution" and find Türk-Alman Üniversitesi to log in as follows:
Users with an email ending in @stud.tau.edu.tr can log in with their username and password used for their eduroam account.
Users with an email ending in @tau.edu.tr can log in with the username and password assigned by the IT Department, which they use on institutional computers.
